Susan was inspired to form SightLigne following twenty years at the San Diego Tourism Authority, where she developed the research and data to inform the strategic direction of the organization, as well as report on performance of the region’s tourism economy. In her role, she developed and realized the vision to create an open and data informed organization that impacted stakeholder perceived value, directed strategies and tactics, and enabled transparent accountability and task efficiency across the organization. Throughout her career she has been a leader in the industry, as a past-President of the Travel and Tourism Research Association and Chair of the Visit California Research and ROI Committee, among other roles. She began her career in Market Research with Amway Japan in Tokyo, and then worked for Heineken in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, conducting category and brand research in Europe and Africa. She has a B.S. from San Diego State University in Business Administration, Finance, and is a graduate of the Japanese Language Institute at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan.
Steve brings comprehensive software development experience to the table, encompassing expertise in databases, full web stack development, mobile apps, desktop applications, and business intelligence. His leadership skills are equally impressive, honed over 10 years, culminating in a VP of Engineering role leading a large-scale deployment of web-connected tablets for a major nationwide restaurant chain (managing a team of 25 with a $3M budget). Steve then ventured out on his own as a business intelligence consultant, working with a diverse clientele (San Diego Tourism Authority, UCSD, Vistage International, California Water Service) on a wide range of projects including data warehouse implementation, Tableau setup and deployment, Salesforce integration, and data visualization. Matt leverages 20 years of software development experience, leading the development of the data warehousing and ETL processes to deliver optimal data sources and reliable uptime for clients. His expertise spans across cloud platforms like Azure and AWS, as well as leading database technologies including SQL Server, Oracle, Redshift, and BigQuery. Prior to SightLigne, he has been an independent business intelligence consultant, implementing and supporting data warehousing and visualization projects across diverse industries. Matt’s client portfolio includes San Diego Tourism Authority, Advantage Solutions, Club Demonstration Services, Fairfield Residential, and Switchboard Software, with applications in travel, marketing, finance, and property management. Matt also led the San Diego Tableau User Group for over 10 years, actively contributing to the data visualization community.
